Mine did the exact same thing and I googled it and followed these instructions and it’s now sorted for me. I hope it works for you as well. I don’t have mods so I just moved back the saves and tray into the new sims file.

Thank you for the help. This did solve the issue. A bit slow (but that's because of Mods/CC I have it seems - but did follow ALL instructions), MUCH more better than how slow it was/not functioning properly before. Seems to be working fine so far (I did the same things/searched what I was looking for before. All results turned up, with what I was trying to find). Take good care, and all.
