When I try to save a lot (build) to My Library (local save), I often receive the following error message:
“Upload timed out. Please check your internet connection or try again later.”
This happens even when I am not uploading to the Gallery and even when playing offline.
When does it happen:
- Large lots (e.g. 50×50)
- Builds with many objects/furniture
- After downloading a new expansion pack and the latest game update
- Occurs both online and offline
What works / what doesn’t:
- Small lots or unfurnished builds can be saved successfully
- Furnished or complex builds frequently fail
- Sometimes the error appears, but files are still created in the Tray folder
- In some cases, the game freezes after attempting to save
This is happening to me too. I’ve spent over 50hrs on my new build, and I can’t save it. It’s so frustrating. Before the latest update, the main box (with the lot pics and details) would eventually close (after 15-30mins), and I’d get the green box in the top right saying it was saved to my library, even with the error message still visible, but now it just doesn’t save - I’ve left it for an hour and still nothing. The game has now frozen (luckily I did a normal ‘save game’ before), and I can’t even Ctrl Alt Delete to close it. I’ve been having issues saving to the gallery for over a year now, but that workaround still made it just about ok. Now I can’t save to library at all. As building is what I do 95% of the time (the other 5% to playtest my builds), I’m really gutted with this. Please fix it ASAP, EA! 🙏

Also note that I’ve never used mods or CC, and I play on my Windows laptop which is perfectly capable of running the game on max quality settings and has plenty of free storage space.
