Someone shared this tip with me on Tumblr and its works!
"I’ve been having this problem since last year, even without any mods or CC installed. As a workaround, what I do now is not do anything at all—I don’t click OK or close the tab—and just wait for the Gallery window to shut down on its own. Even though it can take up to five minutes, it does save to the Gallery afterward. [...] CC heavy build of mine may take up 5-7 minutes. But it worked every time." Shared by magalhaessims.
