Game Has Crashed Several Times Since 18 Sep Update

Hi. Please, can someone help me?

My game has crashed several times since the last update. Mods are disable. I repaired the game and renamed the game folder, but when I tried to play, it crashed again. I've been playing in Innisgreen.

I’ve attached my lastCrash file (without xml tag) and screenshots of my DxDiag information.

  • Hi Rucklia

Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?

    - Press Windows-Key + R
    - Type: DxDiag
    - Click on Save all Information.
    - Attach the Text File to your post

This has been happening to me as well! I've repaired the game twice and was looking for this in the forum so I can add my game to the list of affected games!

Tonight my game crashed more than 10 times. I was playing in Innisgreen. I only have two Sims, who are university students, and the game crashes when they go to classes or take care of their plants. It also crashes when I switch from speed 3 to speed 1.

  • Rucklia  Please go back to using DirectX 11 mode.  And since the DX11 crashes in your dxdiag point to a component of the Nvidia graphics driver, please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of that driver.

Please also disable Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.

If you get another crash in Innisgreen, please test in one of the base game worlds.  And don't use a fairy, at least not at first.  If the game is stable, you can test Innisgreen, which is more unstable in general than other worlds; or fairies, but not with any kind of custom or glowing tattoo.

Thank you for the suggestions. I will try using DirectX 11 and follow the steps you mentioned. However, I’d like to know if, after testing everything, I can go back to using Dx9, since the GShade shaders I use are not compatible with Dx11. I had never experienced this problem before the last update.

  • Rucklia  Let's get the game stable without GShade first, and then you can add it back and test again.  GShade does cause problems from time to time even when it's supposed to be compatible.

There are alternatives though, including GShade options for DX11, and ReShade as well.
