Game Lags After July 1st Update

having the same issue and still can't figure it out, it's so bad its unplayable and exactly as you stated with the kitchen appliances, resetting the sim does not work and repairing game also does not work. very frustrating..... 

i'm having this issue too, i had this same issue months ago, but i updated my pc and it worked fine until now. i will check if there's any updates and i will come back here.

RenanPisi​  I've moved your post to PC tech (for now) since it sounds somewhat like a performance issue.  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

RenanPisi​  Nope, you can run the dxdiag whenever it's convenient.  It's a system report but doesn't contain any current performance data, just some info about hardware and installed drivers and the most recent Windows error reports.  Because of the WERs, it's always best to run a dxdiag soon after you see the issue (so any related errors don't get crowded out by newer ones), but that's the only possibly time-sensitive aspect of it.

snowflakecc​ opaozinho​  If you're seeing the same issue with your Mods folder removed or empty, please provide a dxdiag as well.

I've attached a DXDIAG file and 2 videos of how laggy the game can get. Thank you so much for assisting me. I know I don't own a top notch gamer laptop, but I was able to play The Sims 4 on ULTRA with no lag before the update released yesterday. I even let my NVidia graphic card optimize the settings for me and it always sets everything to the max.

RenanPisi​  Your dxdiag shows that a component of Avast is crashing repeatedly.  A malfunctioning antivirus can cause any affected software to lag, so please uninstall Avast and test the game without it.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.

If you want to use Avast going forward, that's fine—a reinstall may fix the issue.  But it's important to test without it present at all to see whether it is in fact at least part of the issue.

Please also play with your computer plugged in, not running only on battery.

I always play with my computer plugged in, but I’ll see what I can do about the issue with Avast. But what about the fact it was running fine before the update, even with Avast? Anything else I should check? Thank you again for all your time and your help. I appreciate it.

RenanPisi​  It's possible that Avast updated recently too, and the timing here is a coincidence.  It's also possible that the crashes weren't affecting your game until now for one reason or another.

Somewhat more likely is that Avast is objecting to something that changed in the update.  This has happened before on several occasions, and while most AV publishers sort this out relatively quickly, that doesn't help you if the AV can't update or somehow broke in the process.

It is of course possible that these crashes have nothing to do with the Sims 4 issues, so please let me know if temporarily removing Avast doesn't help.

I've got some more dxdiag files. Files 1 and 2 were produced after playing for a few minutes with Avast uninstalled and very little lag. File 3 was created after installing Avast again and while experiencing huge lag after playing for a few hours.
