Gardener immediately leaves saying nothing to do

Could you please provide the following information

-  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
-  What platform are you playing on (PC, Mac, Playstation, XBox)
- Do other serviceNPCs work (maid, nanny, etc) ?

I've had these problems for years, both with and without mods. I play on PC (Windows 11) and as far as I can see, other workers are working.

I do use mods and cc. However, the gardener was doing fine with the royal greenhouse shrubbery, initially. They did call her out for the weeds, but then the Butler, I think it was stepped in to get that done, once the Grand Duchess decided to get her hands dirty.  It's been fine until very recently, in fact. Then I noticed the gardener showed up for work then stated there was nothing to be done and left. This happened at least twice.  When I had a look at the inside of the greenhouse, I was horrified. Just about every tree and plant was dead. I almost decided to remove the greenhouse altogether but then decided the newest Sim in the household might enjoy doing some work. Her new husband is a Rock Star and often has concerts and photoshoots. This would give her something constructive to do with her time. But, allowing plants to wither and die isn't what my monarch was paying for, to be sure. The Crown Prince, Royal stepped in and fired the gardener.
