Grill fires that townies start and "hide relationship" option not working

Every time I travel to a different sims house they are always cooking on the grill and start a fire basically as soon as I get there. The fire fighters showed up and stood there for like 5 minutes (irl, I really did try to give them some time) but they just stood there so I had to extinguish the fire myself. When I returned home, the fire fighters were in my sims relationship tab, even though I did not do any interactions with them or introductions. They were in each family members relationship tab, regardless of the fact that other sims in my household did not meet the fire fighters. I clicked "hide relationship" on all of them, but it popped right back up. I literally just swiped my game clean to a fresh start, fresh save files. No mods or cc downloaded, and my game is fully updated.

And NO, I do not have Enchanted by Nature or any kind of luck system. It's not my sims causing fires. It's the sims at the residential lots I visit, the sims I don't control are the ones starting the grill fires.
