[GRO] Can't create stay-over/guests don't come

I'm no longer able too plan stay overs since the recent update. It rarely let's me create the event, and when it does the sims I have invited never come to my lot. I get the pop up for the stay over event  but nothing happens after that. I play a vanilla game on PC. (no mods, no CC). I have tried repairing and restated the game but it doesn't fix the issue. Hoping this will be resolved soon.

This one might be handled deeper than I know how ot dig into, but looking at the general tuning surrounding it it all seems correct and it uses the normal stayover which does work when forced with commands. I would assume it's a calendar related issue but that doesnt make sense if the game still thinks the event is happening. odd

Thanks. Sounds like something different then.

    Putting this on review now.

  • Planned Stay Over Events are sometimes a bit glitchy. Occasionally I've planned a stay over event, but when the time arrives my game pauses, my sims all reset and then: Nothing. No notice, the invited guests don't show up, however the calendar shows that the event is in progress.

The solution is usually to delete the event and reschedule it to start "now." If the invited sims still don't show up, delete the event again, invite the guest over and set it to start "now" once the guests have arrived.

When scheduling a stay over it helps to avoid conflicting times. I think the default is 8 am, but if you have children/teens that's when they go to school.

I can confirm, although it's just one test, I did this just now (in the same file as my previous glitch, but with a different family) and chose "now" for that time, and it did cause the Stay Over to happen on the first try, so that's promising. 😄

  • I'm having a similar problem with this. I tried playing with a new save, the current save that I play, as I well as other subsequent saves that I played with. I tried to set it up with or without mods.  I own all of the packs as of today, January 21, 2026.

The option to plan a stay over would just not work for me for some reason. Here's what shows up when I set the menu up.
