[GRO] Children are unable to get help learning to ride a bike
Every time an older sim tries to help a child learn to ride a bike or a child asks for help learning, the interaction is canceled with no reasoning, like being unable to walk there.
Did some more testing on this and this is what I found
Interaction drops from queue if child is asking and both are inside the house
Interaction works sometimes if both are outside. Better chances if child is already sitting on the bike. Needs LOTS of room and child has a tendency to put the bike into the inventory which gives a routing failure and then the interaction stops
Interactions works if the child has the bike in the inventory and asks from there.
I wouldn't call this old. Look at my date and it still doesn't work (sorry, I put this under you but was actually saying that to Lostangele7). The child is male. There's plenty of space. After an adult tries to teach, or the child asks an adult to teach him, he waves his arm in the air like he doesn't know what he wants to do and cancels the interaction. I had him in the middle of the street a bunch of times on both sides of the bike; in case it's a space issue. So, I have to start deleting cache? I forgot which files those were. Will it affect gameplay with other lots? I'm not very happy with old bugs resurfacing. That usually means there is a QA problem with the game.
To this day I still cannot teach any children to ride a bike and they cannot themselves. I have even tried going to an empty lot as big as 64x64 with nothing on it and they still cant even practice themselves. I feel like it only started after the update and it is just so frustrating as it is a big part when it comes to completing the aspiration for it.
Never cc or mod. win 11 pc. When ever I would prompt Tamar(child) to ask for help to learn to ride bike, it always failed. When I would promt the parents or grandparents to teach Tamar the action would fail. Tamar, in all these cases would take bike out of her inventory and then put it back in her inventory; sometimes she never even got the bike out of her inventory. Last night I was astounded but I sat back and watched my game. Edit: I just remembmbered, Atonomony was off when this happened. I've had it off for some time now because of too much woohooing... imo
Tamar's grandpa 100% autonomously decided to teach Tamar to ride bike, late at night, on a school night even, both their energy was in the yellow - that's how late it was... I didn't stop it... I literally just watched. They both went outside, Tamar took bike out of inventory and started riding sloppily around her grandpa while he was encouraging her. I watched the timer in the lower left corner since whenever she practiced by herself it would take 3 hours for the clock to complete so I was concerned about either of them passing out. Before the 'clock' ran out I heard a tone - immediately paused the game and managed to catch a screenshot of Tamar "learned how to ride a bike", popped a wheelie (below). She then Autonomously rode her bike up the street and back, while grandpa headed to bed. now both energy is orange/nearly red. I am still watching... I see grandpa stop autonomously, turn and head into the kitchen where he stops and just stands there. I see Tamar riding across the lawn to the side kitchen door, puts bike in her inventory, (grandpa still standing in the same spot), Tamar runs, literally runs through the side kitchen door and jumps on Grandpa and gives or gets what looks like "Best Hug Ever". I wasn't fast enough to get a screen shot of it because it happened so fast and was completely unexpected. I did just watch the entire episode, from start to finish. All I did was take 2 screenshots. It blew my mind that everything about this was indeed 100% autonomous!
I found these screenshots today as I did forget I had them.
This was actually the 2nd time trying to get help learning how to ride a bike at this location and after numerous failures at home and at all the parks. Game clock say 3:52PM I took the bike out of her inventory thinking it might make a difference - it didn't. see the bike in the circle?? see 2nd pic becasue is it the automatic command to put it in the inventory.

I have tried in different locations but my post below makes me wonder if it has something to do with autonomy. I have autonomy off/disabled whatever term you wish to call it... No sims are to make decisions on their own.
