I'm having this issue, too.
The infant gets the sparkles and the music. The parents go to watch and take pictures, but then nothing happens. This happened with Sit-Up several times. I also had another infant couldn't learn to crawl because every time the milestone would happen, something was blocking their path despite being in an open area.
