I noticed that too with strict and permissive dynamic. There just doesn't seem to be anything positive about them.
And I agree about the lecturing part... I chose the permissive dynamic for my current legacy heir and her son because it fits her personality, but it makes me sad that it only affects them negatively.
Exactly! My legacy is in the 70s now, when the permissive free-style parenting was at its height. For my hippie/artist single mother it feels like a natural choice, but now the daughter is angry all the time which is highly annoying. And earlier eras, where strict parenting was definitely the norm, parents were sad and kids were constantly tense.
