Issue Description:
During a food sale using the food stand from Home Chef Hustle, when the player's Sim socializes with an NPC customer (or when NPCs autonomously socialize with the player's Sim), the NPCs will go inside the Sim's home instead of remaining at the food stand. This occurs even when the food stand is placed outdoors or in a separate area from the main house.
Expected Behavior:
NPCs attending a food sale should remain in the vicinity of the food stand while socializing. They should not path into the Sim's house unless the food stand is located inside the home. Social interactions should take place near the point of sale.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Place a food stand (Home Chef Hustle) outdoors on a residential lot (or indoors but away from living areas).
- Stock and open the food stand for business.
- Wait for NPC customers to arrive.
- Initiate a social interaction (e.g., "Convince to Buy," "Sales Pitch," "Get to Know") with an NPC customer.
- Alternatively, allow NPCs to autonomously socialize with each other or with the player's Sim.
- Observe where the NPCs walk during and after the social interaction.
Actual Result:
NPCs will walk into the Sim's house (through the front door) to perform the social interaction. They may:
- Stand in the living room, kitchen, or hallway while talking with each other,
- Congregate inside the home instead of around the food stand,
- Remain inside even after the food sale ends,
- Block doorways or use indoor objects (chairs, sinks, etc.).
Additional Notes:
- Occurs even if the food stand is placed far from the house (e.g., at the edge of the lot).
- Does not require the NPC to have any relationship with the player's Sim beforehand.
- May be related to a broader pathfinding/routing issue where NPCs prefer "safe" indoor spaces for social interactions regardless of context.
- Workaround: Lock doors for everyone except household members during food sales
Impact:
Breaks immersion and disrupts food sale gameplay. NPCs abandon the food stand area, making it difficult to sell items efficiently. They may also wander inside and start using household objects (bathrooms, computers, etc.), further derailing the sale event.
