High School Years – Persistent Class Errors in a Clean Game Environment
Hello EA Support Team,
I am experiencing a persistent issue with The Sims 4 High School Years expansion pack (EP12). During active high school gameplay, Sims freeze or fail to proceed with classroom activities, and the game repeatedly generates errors related to creating school books.
The LastException log contains repeated errors such as:
- super_HighSchool_Active_CreateBook_CafeteriaStation
- super_HighSchool_Active_CreateBook_Class
- RuntimeError: Trying to create object with None definition
The errors occur even with mods disabled (Modded: False).
Game version: 1.128.90.1030
I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps without success:
- Removed all mods and custom content and deleted localthumbcache.package.
- Renamed the entire Sims 4 user folder to generate a completely fresh user folder.
- Created a brand-new save and transferred my Sim family into it through the Library. The issue persisted.
- Used cas.fulleditmode to age the affected Teen Sims up to Young Adults and then back to Teens to reset their student-related state.
- Completely reinstalled the High School Years expansion pack (EP12), including deleting its installation folder and clearing the EA app cache.
- Rebuilt the Copperdale High School lot, changed its lot type and changed it back, and replaced all desks, chairs, and classroom furniture.
- Replaced the high school cafeteria station with a fresh copy of the same object.
- Repaired The Sims 4 through the EA app.
Unfortunately, none of these steps resolved the issue. The problem also affects NPC Sims, and it is not limited to my original save.
Could you please investigate whether this is a known bug related to the High School Years expansion pack, particularly the school book creation interactions? I would appreciate any additional troubleshooting steps or escalation to the appropriate technical team.
I can provide my LastException file and any additional information required.
Thank you for your assistance.
