Ever since a patch back in August, my teen sims cannot take notes when actively attending high school or study for exams.
- I play on PC.
- I play 100% mod & cc free; this is a fresh save I started back in the Spring.
- I tried repairing my game, it did nothing.
- I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and attempting these activities in a fresh save, still nothing.
My teen sims get the prompt to go to class, they will sit in their seat to attend class, and when the class begins they will pay attention to the lesson until another prompt cues for them to take out their notebooks and take notes.. this resets the student.
In order for my sim to attend class I have to actively pay attention to them and cancel the prompt for them to take notes EVERY time it appears.
Also, teen sims are resetting when they attempt to study.
- If I click on the teen sim and select the interaction to study for exam, the teen resets.
- If I click on a bookcase and select the interaction to study for exam, the teen resets.
- If I click on the computer and select the interaction to study for exam, my teen sim is SUCCESSFULLY able study for exam.
While I was able to find a successful workaround to studying for my teen sim this does not fix the issue as a whole. This workaround is not the first option for many other teen sims and now whenever I join my teen sim at high school all I see is constant resetting throughout the entire school day.
This issue is very disruptive and frustrating. My teen sims can't go a whole minute without resetting or someone resetting around them, and sometimes forcing them to reset. I used to enjoy joining my teen sim but lately I have started just sending them to high school alone.

I'm experiencing a very similar problem on PC.
My Sim cannot properly study for exams because the interaction disappears immediately after I select it. At high school, my Sim attends class for only a few seconds before resetting and stopping the interaction.
The issue occurs both at home and at school. I've removed all mods and script mods, tested a new save, repaired the game through the EA app, and tested with a completely fresh user folder. The problem still occurs even without mods.
Studying for exams on the computer still works normally. However, when I try to use the regular "Study for Exams" interaction, it disappears from the queue immediately and doesn't start.
My LastException log mentions errors related to missing object definitions for High School Years exam preparation and school book interactions.
Hopefully, these reports will help EA identify the cause. I'd really like to be able to play normally again!

Have you already repaired your game? Does this happen in an unmodded game?

Both SAMSAMIL and I have answered your questions in our initial posts.
My game is a fresh save that I started back in Spring 2026, 100% mod and CC free. I tried repairing my Spring 2026 save and I tried generating a fresh, vanilla sims 4 folder to test if the issue is persists - it does. I also tried repairing the game with the fresh, vanilla sims 4 folder - still does not fix the issue.
SAMSAMIL said they removed all mods/cc, tested a new save, repaired the game, and re-tested with a fresh, vanilla sims 4 folder as well.
The issue remained for us when we generated fresh vanilla sims 4 folders. - jademo2749 days agoNew Spectator
For me, i completely uninstalled and reinstalled everything, i wiped the entire Sims 4 Folder so EA could give me a brand new one when I start up the game. No mods, no cc, no nothing and still the glitch persists. Mine is at the high school all Sims reset after trying to sit down for class or lunch. It happens over and over and over again I have tried absolutely everything and nothing is working.

Yes, this sounds like my issue.
