[HSY] Hair grows even though it's disabled

Brand new test The Sims 4 folder. No mods. No CC.

I made a new random sim. Made sure to uncheck hair growth in CAS because this is a test game and I wasn't interested in such details. Just wanted a plain uncomplicated Sim.

However hair growth keesp re-enabling itself. At first I thought it was an oversight on my part, but I've now edited my Sim in CAS twice and each time it re-enables itself.

I don't know when this started, but this is the first time I've had this problem. Maybe game update 1.116, July 1, 2025.

  • I'm playing on PC with a brand new vanilla save where no mods or CC have ever been installed.  It is a save I started about a week ago after getting Enchanted By Nature.  My household has 3 adult sims; 2 females and a male all of which I made myself.

The females don't have any body hair selected but the game keeps adding leg and arm hair randomly.  I've lost count the number of times I've had to go back in to CAS to reset the hair to none for them as the 'shave' option has suddenly appeared while they are showering

For the male I have facial, arm, leg and chest hair on, but no regrowth selected or back hair.  However at least once he has randomly grown back hair and I've had to reset that.

I found the random Gallery Sim I was using and started a new game with her.  I think it's a glitch with that Sim. (Not the first Gallery Sim I've had a glitch with) I ended up making a twin and had no more problems.

    OK. thanks.

I'll put it on review for now to see if more people have issues.

I've been exploring EBN with a copy of my regular save (no mods, no CC) and so far I haven't seen this reoccur. But, hard to say because I never remember how I've set up hair growth. Mostly I try to remember to set it to off, because it not something I'm interested in.

I still have the other test TS4 folder waiting for me.

Would you mind testing another Sim ? Currently don't have time for testing myself.

I've turned it off twice for this Sim. Reappears in one Sim day. Only Sim I've been playing with right now.

  • To be sure, you just turned it off for that particular Sim ?

Does it also happen for another ?
