I used to love the kiss in water animation, but since AA and the addition of water woohoo, I haven't been able to use it. It's just not there as an option.
Af first I put it down to the use of mods, but even without mods it's just not there. I've started a new save, so it's not a save corruption, and right now I don't even have AA activated. Was it removed intentionally or is it a bug? If it was intentional, why?

I followed the steps and the error is still present in the newly generated game. They can woohoo in the water, splash each other, try for a baby in the water but not kiss in the water. Just choosing kiss have them leaving the water and heading onto dry land. This was in an entirely newly generated sims4 folder with no mods installed. I got to step 8 in the guide you linked.
I only tested a pool cause it was winter in the save I tested. Do you not have it anywhere ?
This time (after the clean folder approach) I checked in the sea of Tartosa, but just the other day I tried a pool in Oasis Springs and it wasn't there either. I haven't seen it since I bought AA. In my last save I put it down to the number of mods I had at the time, but since then I deleted that save and started fresh with a completely different save and very few mods, reinstalling the entire game from scratch. Now with the clean folder approach for obvious reasons there were no mods and again a completely new folder. So that's three different saves without the interaction.
Do you have Island Living installed ?
Not at the moment, no, but I did when the problem started. (And sorry I didn't see that you had answered).
I think it comes with the pack so maybe you need to re-activate the pack ? There are some issues going on with swimming though so maybe this is related.
Then it would make sense that I don't have it now, but not why I did not have it in my old save when it was activated. I don't have any reason to activate that pack in my current save, but I will report back when I have such a reason.
Wish one of the other voters would post. It's really hard to tell what happened when you had it installed but it would be important to test with the pack (works fine for me).
I will set this to Awaiting Additional infos until someone provides the info if they this happen with or without IL.
