Interactions Getting Stuck in Queue

The amount of money paid should not be causing this to happen. I have several videos showing what is happening but am unable to upload them bc this area does not accept dropped .mov files. I am playing the new to town scenario in normal game speed and Farrah is standing there talking with two Sims and now she is stuck while her queue is reaching past the normal limit of basic interactions like going to the restroom and saying goodbye to people. Time is passing by normally, but she and now 5 Sims are stuck on her front porch.  Playing on computer. The first time about an hour in the game just itself down and took me all the out of the game back to the EA app. this time it is just stuck. I see everyone saying they reset or resolve it themselves by resetting but is that really the best the sims 4 can do after all these years?
