I've had this issue for a while now as well, not sure if I've had it since November but definitely since December 2025.
It get worse if you have stacks of produce with a lot in them, so like over 20 apples vs 3. It does not matter if you have like 5 different produce or 15, still ends up with the strange stack action where you hold whatever it was you tried to drag.
It feels like it is contagious in the way I have other things act when I try to drag after trying to drag items from the fridge.
I had a fridge full of produce with the amount of each past 99. I like my sims to garden. Anyway, I ended up selling all the produce from the fridge to correct this issue. No dice.
