Items are getting stuck in the grab hand when moving from stacks to inventory

Trying to move anything between storage (ex: the fridge) and the sims inventory is moving the first stack and then automatically selecting another object in the storage. The next item or stack select...

This just started in my new save. I have never had any issues with inventories before and I am also not using any mods. It did begin with attempting to drag a stack of repair parts from a chest into my sims inventory. Even after repairing, the issue randomly begins again even if seems to be fine for a while.
