EDIT: DISCOVERED A WORKAROUND: in curse forge, littlemssam has a mod called “transfer inventory” it works. It will remove everything from your fridge or certain things you want within reason. It also works on storage chests. I would have had to stop playing if I didn’t find this mod. Saved my sanity. Hope this helps!!!!
I am also having this same issue. Started after December 2025 update. My style of play is farming so this has made the game unplayable for me. The only thing I can think of at the point is never putting produce in a fridge or chest and never putting any items like wool or flowers in storage. Escape or delete doesn’t work for me. My cursor gets stuck as well like others have described. Sometimes it switches to something else I haven’t clicked. Tried with and without mods. I have the most up to date version of the game and the mods I use. Quitting the game and coming back doesn’t fix it. A new save and new lot does not fix it. I tried everything I’ve seen suggested and nothing works. When you have over 50+ of every produce and flower “placing in world” is not a realistic fix. I’m more convinced than ever that this is a bug that the Sims team will need to correct on their end. There’s a ton of people experiencing the same thing. Not a coincidence. I really hope this is fixed soon. So disappointing.
