Happens most of the time. I complete all tasks on assignment on reaper career, until it only says return to office as a task. Then, option to return to office does not appear when I click on my sim. Have tried resetting my sim and it still does not appear.

Honestly the reaping career was fun for a couple of days, but it got old kinda quick. The bug definitely didn’t help, but I found that going to CAS was a “meh” short term solution in the meantime. I wish we could work from home or even be able to do some reaping not just at work. Either way, this is a totally annoying bug.
Can't get into CAS while "a person is dying", even though I've already reaped them and delivered their urn. Really wish EA was better at fully testing new add-ons before they launched them. With the number of people experiencing this problem, how could they have missed it? Not impressed.

After reaping a soul I don’t get the option to return to office so I end up leaving work early as there is nothing else to do.

I am also having trouble returning to office. To me it seems like it only happens when the assignment involves witnesses. Don't know what the type of assignment is called, but I am talking about the one where there are live sims which you are supposed to take statements from, and console after reaping the sole of there loved ones. For this kind of assignment, the "Return to office" option does not show. If there are no witnesses, there is no problem returning to office. Hope this helps in investigating!
My sim is at currently at level 9. But this error has been happening throughout the career when I have gotten the specific assignment.
crinrict Same here!! I also play Reaper career. If I stayed on the lot for a while after the Return to Office quest popped up, I will be unable to return to the office. There won't be any option for me to return to the office, unless I have to end my shift early or let the time runs out.
I observed and found out that the menu Return to the office will be appeared only when I clicked Sim immediately after the quest popped up.
I play on Mac, disabled mods.
Have you tried going into cas? That's how I solve this issue.
Since the game has updated I am unable able to travel once I have finished all the job assignments on the lot. I have reloaded multiple times and with every assignment I’m unable to return back to the office.

first time playing since fairy update; completed reaper task, travel to office not an option, had to leave work early.
All expansions, etc Except do not have the bust the dust (I don't dust) NO CC, NO mods

I just had a sim join this career for the first time. I followed her to work, picked up my first assignment, completed it, and then was instructed to click on self to travel (back to the office), but the option was unavailable because Sim is at work.
I don't use mods and CC hairs are disabled.
Her assignment was to pick up lost souls and close fissures. While on the lot, I had her do all of that and I also reached into a couple fissures and showered in the rain twice because apparently this is dirty work. Oh and I had her forage for food and eat some blueberries and apples while on this lot. The lot is on some kind of island/water in background and there seems to only be one selectable building that looks like a church when I zoom out. I'm not sure which world this is, but it isn't how I pictured the netherworld.
