I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago in another house, but I can no longer do laundry in my machine. When I click on a laundry basket or pile, it says that there is no machine.

I've had this issue for the LONGEST time. Washing machine becomes 'unavailable' after 1 or 2 washes. The only way to fix it is to sell it and buy a new one. Then it happens again 2 washes later.
I have tried:
- resetting the machine and laundry baskets
- buying new laundry baskets
- upgrading and not upgrading
- moving them away from the walls/possible obstructions
- switching households and moving house
- new saves
- putting it in the household inventory and back again
- removing all mods and starting a new vanilla game (this began long before I installed mods)
- reinstalling the whole game
- repairing the game
