Number 4 as stated above is the big issue underlying all of this. And now that the family tree system has been "reworked" and the game no longer allows manipulation of relbits or relationships (even through mods), there is no way for a player to manually fix all the errors resulting from the borked family tree system. It's unplayable for a legacy-type player. EA, bring back the old family tree system immediately, please. I don't want free baby playmats or layerable clothes, I want to be able to actually purchase R&L and non-Marketplace content (provided you aren't storing it in my appdata). I want to be able to do events again, and update my game. Thanks!

I have a similar issue that first became a problem few months ago (around the time when Royalty & Legacy came out - though I didn't get it). I'm just going to copy and paste my first comment because the issue remains the same:
My sim Martin was engaged to Kiyoshi Ito (from the Snowy Escape pack). When I updated my game, for some reason Martin's father Michael was assigned as the son of Megumi Ito - Kiyoshi's mom. They've never interacted before, didn't visit each other, Megumi is a young adult and Micheal is an adult, but for some reason they're mother and son. Kiyoshi and Martin had children together which still have them listed as their fathers, but since Kiyoshi became an uncle of his fiance I can't pick any romantic interactions between them and can't organize their wedding. I tried every single solution I managed to find online, but literally nothing seems to work.
I've tried using the "Cheat Relationship" option and removing Mother and Son traits, but no matter how many times I try Megumi is still assigned as Michael's mother. I downloaded the MCCC mod to try and make Megumi forget all of my sims, but again it just keeps on reverting to her being the mother. I've added Michael to the Ito family to try and change their relationship in CAS, but it just doesn't let me do anything, I keep clicking to change their relationship from Son to Family Member but literally nothing happens when I click on it. I've tried creating new parents for Michael but it also doesn't let me add them as his parents in CAS or through MCCC, again just nothing happens and the game ignores anything I do. I tried deleting Megumi and even the whole Ito family, but they still appear in my sims' family tree as little grey icons and I still can't give Michael different parents or stop Kiyoshi and Martin from being uncle and nephew.
I'm playing on a laptop and have the game on the EA App (which I've also used to try and fix the game - nothing happened). I have some gameplay mods and CC installed, but the problem is the same even when I try deleting them.

Oh my... it seems like your family tree is also so overstretched that it led to nowhere. Really wish the QAs and Devs will read all the comments under this thread before fixing the family tree issues

Please note that this is a machine translation.
May 12th: The family tree has not been corrected in this update.
A bug is occurring where the family tree is not displaying correctly.
This is likely due to the settings being based on EA's family tree configuration,
and the loading time is long due to the need for reconfiguration.
I am using a mod, MCCC, for relationship correction.
Phenomena:
1. In cases of polygamy, Sims with sibling relationships will show "Spouse: None." Consequently, single Sims will also show "Spouse: None."
2. In cases of forbidden or taboo relationships, they are replaced with "Stepson" or "Stepchild."
3. The family tree is not per household. Instead, there is no display method to indicate a starting point, such as "Spouse (Main)."
4. The game does not anticipate large families in long-term play.
Due to the reconfiguration based on EA's family tree configuration,
the family tree will not display correctly as you have played.
The save data has already been submitted in the "past," so please use that.

Well, the same issue still remains for me after the May 12 update. Basically some of the family trees are still so overstretched that it lead to nowhere. Also my issue - CAS cousins, piblings & niblings not treated as family/can romance in some cases still isnt fixed at all, and oh I have used the clean folder approach but the outcome remained the same. Very disappointing.... I wonder if anyone even had taken a look at my legacy play save files, despite already dm'ed them to EA Solarie ever since the issue had occurred.
Hi leenaaxx
I split your post to a new thread.
Please try the clean folder approach described here: 📓[GUIDE] Clean User Folder Approach | EA Forums - 12690428
Just copy your save back and see if it makes a difference.
