Lot Challenge interrupting cooking in oven prevents Sim form using it further

Is this just for the GTW baking interaction, just recipes you need an oven for or cooking in general ?

Hi! So sorry for the delay. Completely forgot to check my notifications the past couple days. 

I tested it out again and thought I'd taken a screenshot but now cannot find it. I'm having issues getting the events to unfold exactly just cause it's hard to predict when a disruptive lot challenge may impact things. That being said, I did intentionally have my sim try to cook as opposed to bake and the off-grid lot challenge did disrupt the action when the power surplus ran out. My sim was forced to throw the item away when there was a power surplus, but they were not unable to cook new items. 

Right now, based on that I would say that cooking getting interrupted forces my sim to toss the in progress item, but doesn't stop them from cooking new items, while baking forces them to not only toss the in progress item but also stops them from baking new items. 

I'll test it out some more tonight after some chores to hopefully gather more info! Sorry it took me a bit and I was only able to get one test done! 

Did the cooking also involve the oven ? Aka is the oven the issue and meals that need no stove at all or just the stove/grill are fine ?

It seems oven exclusive. Unfortunately further testing on my end is on hold as my laptop has decided it will not be turning on. I’m taking it in tomorrow, but since I don’t know what the issue is or the cost to fix it I don’t know exactly when Ill be able to get back to testing the various food appliances that could potentially be interrupted by a lot challenge. I’m hoping it’s a quick fix and I do start school this week so I need it working regardless but the when is still kinda up in the air. 

But from my memory the main issue has always been baking and items in the oven. Once I have my laptop back, I can of course try to recreate with the grill and various appliances, but I’m fairly certain it’s just the oven because once the item disappears into the oven it seems to be just gone when the action is interrupted. With grills, stove top, mixer, etc there’s still an option to “resume (x)” whereas baking in the oven has no “resume” option.

Thanks! It's been fixed so hopefully I can provide more details as I play with this household/on this lot! And just to clarify it's not just running out of power from off-grid that is causing issues, but also the volcanic activity and quake zone lot challenges--basically, the most disruptive lot traits being triggered if they stop my sim from baking, the issue crops up.
