Sometimes, if I'm VERY LUCKY and run to the bar before any other customer and order immediately, my Sim can get a drink or food, but after that the option to order drinks or food disappears and they just do tricks. If you wait for the next bartender to come on shift, you can get a drink if you are the very first Sim to order, but after that .... tricks and no option to order.
