[MWS] X to end wedding events is invisible/ Getaway icon instead of wedding

I have this same issue. There is no way to cancel or end the wedding.  I was completely stuck.  Exited the game completely, and still ended up back in the never ending event.  I started debugging everything that I could think of and I noticed that several of my guests were still (after several hours) sitting at the wedding arch! Turned out it was a bad arch - once I "debugged" it, my event ended and everyone went home.
