I don't have the Adventure Awaits add-on, but the icon for the trip appears when I'm organizing a personalized wedding. Time doesn't count down, so I can't end the wedding. I have to save and exit to the main menu to finish.

The X will still appear if you hover over where it's supposed to be. You should be able to cancel from there.

Was it just the events from the Wedding pack ? The X on the wedding itself is just invisible so if you hover over it it should work. There's a bug report here:

Kushina9999 Deleting saves will result in people loosing their data. If you meant to say to delete those files you listed, those are not save files, they are cache files.
Also bit unsure what you mean by turning of the CPU.
both events were from the wedding pack i believe! two engagement parties and one wedding. to be fair the wedding might have had the invisible x and i didn’t see it because i was already so frustrated with the engagement parties.
for those it looked like a regular event (such as a date) was running, with tasks and all. but no event timer to ever end it. unfortunately i don’t have any pictures nor will i curse myself again.

The note that was added must be a 50/50… the x is NOT there for me even when i hover over where it usually is. I’ve had this every time I’ve attempted a customized wedding event & every time I’ve had to force save & quit.
Dealing with this tonight, tried to volunteering and sending the active SIM off for a volunteer job, this didn’t work for me, she came straight back to her wedding. Entered CAS through shift-modify CAS and couldn’t get them out in manage worlds so I tried CAS to main menu and reloaded. This did work with a little data loss as I had to redo their proposal etc! I don’t think it would have worked had I saved at the wedding stage. Interestingly, this only happened to me today using the custom wedding option, when I did it as an event differently earlier on today it didn’t stick like that. The custom option left a box at the top left that said wedding event, but no options underneath to complete the mission or escape from it. So this is a very specific and active bug!
I have had My Wedding Stories for a long time and did not have this problem, until I purchased Life and Death this week.
There was no X on my wedding event, it wasn't just invisible, hovering over where it should be did nothing.
Just encountered this myself when planning a MWS custom wedding. The icon was for a getaway. The X was invisible but I was able to hover over it and press it to end the event as expected.
Happened to me tonight as well! Get away icon and no option to end the event.
