I don't have the Adventure Awaits add-on, but the icon for the trip appears when I'm organizing a personalized wedding. Time doesn't count down, so I can't end the wedding. I have to save and exit to the main menu to finish.

The X will still appear if you hover over where it's supposed to be. You should be able to cancel from there.
Same issue here although I do own Adventure Awaits and have no mods.
Just had this exact problem! The custom wedding ceremony ui has the getaway symbol and there's no way to end the event. I went to main menu and loaded back into the same save but with a different family and then went back to my original family who was trapped in the wedding and the event had ended. Very annoying!
As the title says, I was having a wedding and it just won't end and I cannot leave the site to go home due to the ongoing event.
I do have mods but have removed them from the game to attempt to fix the issue to no avail.
I had this happen tonight, I'd actually forgotten custom weddings were broken. Had to switch to another household then back again to sort it.
highly frustrating I wish they would fix this.
I've just also encountered this bug, with no X on show in the event title (top left).
My wedding cake also disappeared, even though the wedding topper was applied 😒
However, the solution I had after wondering how to supply a new cake (although I couldn't travel/be bothered to bake a new one) was to simply hover over where the X would be (far right, next to 'Ceremony'), and the X appeared: the event was cancelled/had ended successfully.
My two sims are still married, and as a bonus, gained §200... I'm not sure why, but I will consider it as an inconvenience refund lol.
Hopefully anyone else who encounters this bug may be able to find the X hidden in the event title card.
I know this is such a stupid pack for gameplay, and it probably shouldn't take a lot to make the UI function properly ): I appreciate the funerals working though xx
On a side note, real cake disappears into my mouth 😆
No x button to finish the event, and the icon is from Adventure Awaits. I asked my sims (guests) to do something like having a drink and they won't do it.

Come to think of it, I also had that AA icon, yet I don't have that pack either. I thought it was part of a newer update.
