Edit I am using a Mac Book Pro with M3 chip.
With my files - I had done a file cleanup and backed everything up to an external hard drive. I was not aware that in my "Documents" folder, there was an "Electronic Arts" folder with a "The Sims 4" file. I am going back through and adding those files back to the "Documents" folder on my internal hard drive. I will let you know if this resolves the issues.

See my above comment on how I fixed it on my Mac.This did indeed fix the issue. I was able to play and have my lots show back up.
