UPDATE:
I'd recommend anyone who is experiencing this issue to try out Memory Boost if you are on PC -> My lots recovered in that mode!! I noted my experiences about it here: Memory Boost Technical Issues and Feedback Thread | EA Forums - 12559480
I'm not yet confident in using this as my main game play mode, as everyone is still saying this is in beta and may still be faulty, so use it on a copy of your corrupted save to test it out safely. But it looks very promising, and may be a first fix for this issue?
