No Promotions. Getting Raises instead

Had the sims before I played university with them, they graduated and joined the tech career in esports at level 7 - they had the Entrepreneurial trait long before when they first became a young adult as I used to play without the university expansion and have been working on getting my immortal occult sims degrees and making them super sims. My Vampire is now a level 7eSports Gamer eSports Competitor +4 she had the check prior to going to work and was at regular level 7 no plus. Came home with a raise and still at level 7 now with plus 4. I do not use cheats in this save and play on Xbox so no mods or CC. I had the same thing happen in another save I do use cheats in and once the trait was removed the promotions occurred like normal when my the check mark was highlighted
