Sim joined painter career, promoted as normal until level 6 where we have to choose a career path. After this, no more promotions, just earning a raise. I tried with multiple careers and it still occurs. Every time my sim finishes work and starts daily task, the performance bar rests from excellent to average.
After raising another sim without the "Entrepreneurial" trait, I was able to get promotion up to level 10 and actually complete the "have a child reaches the top of a career" checkmark.
So the bug is definitely on the "Entrepreneurial" trait.
In career (when I was doing "have a child reaches the top of a career"), I experienced a jump from level 5 to level 9 in one shift when I was doing the athlete career for both of my young adults. After I hit level 9, no matter how many times they go to work, the bar will go from "average" to "good/excellent", and after that, it went back to "average", and I can never get a promotion in any career. I can never hit level 10 in the athlete career, and thus I can never complete the "have a child reaches the top of a career". I have "Connections" and "Entrepreneurial" trait for both young adults. I believe the bug is in the "Entrepreneurial" trait. Tomorrow, I will test having another child to go top of a career without the "Entrepreneurial" trait, and see if it works for "have a child reaches the top of a career".
I do not use mods, MCCC or cc. My game is 100% vanilla, and I played in a PC. I believe the problem comes in the update.
For me it's not just that the work performance resets. The sims actually gain the golden check mark during the work day and have it when they first come home, but the game doesn't register it as triggering a promotion.
I got the same issue with my sims who keep getting a raise despite getting the check point for promotion. I play on PC and has no mods or cc in my game and it occured after the newest update.
This is happening for both of my adult sims on PC as well - they keep getting daily raises but then the work progress bar resets daily, preventing promotions. One is a Tech Guru (esport gamer) and one is a writer (author). This was fine when I played last, about a week ago, so I assume it is from the latest patch as well. I don’t use mods.
Same issue for me. Started a new save, base game only, no mods/cc. Playing through the part-time jobs first (Renaissance Sim aspiration), and hit a wall with the Retail Worker job. She gets a raise every single day she works, or even if she takes a vacation day, but does not get promoted to the next level. Something tells me a shelf-stocker making $363/hour isn't intentional.
Editing to give additional information: Job performance bar is never reaching max, yet she still gets a raise at the end of her shift each workday (or vacation day), and she gets not +1 but +3 in terms of raises. (Saw it jump from +33 to +36 from one day of going, and again +36 to +39 the next day.) Additionally, the performance bar resets at 1am in-game each day. She also gets a moodlet/buff for getting a promotion, despite not actually getting promoted each day.
Editing again to add: Definitely seems tied to the Entreprenurial trait. I did have that on my sim and had read others' comments stating the same. I removed the trait and finally, she did not get a raise the next day at work. So temporary workaround, I guess, but hopefully will be fixed soon enough. It must have been about that time that I got the reward trait and not tied to her actual job choice. Highest paid shelf stocker ever! (At least she has a healthy rainy day fund now!) She got promoted the next time, and the salary popup is amusing!
