I have the same problem! It looks like the Sim is putting the herbal remedy back on the grill after making it instead of putting it on a table. I have realized if I put it in my sims inventory then both the herbal remedy and the grill will show up and you can put the grill back. This doesn't work on lots that aren't the home lot though.
