[PS/XB] Game preferences resetting

I'm on PS5, having the exact same two problems:

Game options that are not specific to a particular save file (audio, tutorial & tips, etc, but not gameplay, environment or pack settings) revert to the default settings upon closing and restarting the game. 

When I first launch the game, I initially get the pop-up that says I'm not connected to the internet/EA, and if I load right into a household, all the event reward items are missing. However, if I wait a minute or two, I do eventually connect, and the items are available.
