[RL] Noble Rivalry will not end

My sim became rivals with another noble after I interacted with the enchanted mirror in Bellacorde, so I befriended them and maxed out friendship but the rivalry still won't end. I can't promote him because the rivalry interferes meanwhile they are literally best friends and there are no cheats to remove the buff. The pop-up said that one of the ways to end the rivalry was by befriending them but this does not seem to work. Even if this is just me it would be nice if there was a cheat to remove it in cases like this.

I am having the same problem. Honestly, everything appears to only be corrected in a negative way. I am not even sure if that works. Diplomacy is a thing and it should be a way to end the rivalry. We should be able to say Hey, I am fine with you running the kingdom to remove the rivalry.
The major gameplay in this pack is so broken. Rivalry is broken and so is removing secrets\scandals. Even with success the scandals start to count up to some ridiculous number. At the market, everyone is making a crap ton of food.
Cheap, broken pack is my rating.

I've just had this issue and may have finally found a way around it purely by accident. My Sim befriended her rival but as others have stated that made no difference. But when she threw a Grand Ball and invited him, the rivalry ended at the end of the successful event. The notification popped up at the conclusion of the evening to tell me that the rivalry had ended.
