Royalty & Legacy: My Sim has a secret lover and it was fine but then I got a notification of a sims death and suddenly a pop up appears saying they are now the partner of my sim.

I reloaded my save, the same happened. I loaded it again, same issue. I ended the relationship, started over, happened again when another death notification popped up.

Death of a non household sim is the trigger. Secret Lover is not in the played household.

Could you confirm if you are using mods and what your platform is ?

  Please follow these steps to test your game on vanilla game with no mods/cc
  
  Create a backup of your save game
  
  Move your mods folder to the desktop
  
  Delete the following files from your user folder.
  
  localthumbcache
  
  Any lastException Files
  
  Any LastCrash files.
  
  Go back to a backup from before the Sim died (or test on a new one if you don't have a backup) and check if it happens without mods/cc
  
  Report back.
