[RoM] Magical clones can become permanent (Patch 1.62.67)

We’ve noticed that the Duplicatio spell, cast by spellcasters in the Realm of Magic DLC, is currently creating clones that remain in the game as permanent "siblings" instead of disappearing after a short time, as intended. This issue has been reported repeatedly by multiple users.

We believe Realm of Magic is one of the most creative and magical expansions in The Sims 4, and it deserves the same level of polish and care as other core content. Addressing this bug would not only improve gameplay immersion but also reflect positively on the long-term value of the DLC — for both players and the company.

It’s especially important that this pack works properly for occult and paranormal players, who rely on Realm of Magic to build rich and immersive storytelling. This is all the more relevant now, with the upcoming release of the Enchanted by Nature DLC — a pack that seems to expand the mystical and magical side of the game. Ensuring consistency and functionality between these experiences would greatly benefit both communities and developers alike.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. ❤️

Exactly. That’s it. Clones are supposed to be temporary so you can assign them tasks like cooking, fighting, etc. Making them permanent totally breaks the game. And honestly, I don’t think it’d be that hard to fix. Even just a hidden moodlet that triggers a disappearance animation and deletes the sim when it ends would do the trick 🧙

  • I have noticed this as well when playing RoM. Ended up with multiple permanent siblings that were supposed to be temporary.

The comments are disabled for this archived report, but I'm having the issue now. Latest patch, all DLC, I don't use mods/cc.

My Sim made a duplicato of himself & a week later the clone still exists. My Sim is no longer a Spellcaster, but I'm not sure if that's relevant. I made the clone at the Magic Realm HQ and then travelled home, possibly this is why?

I'll probably manually look for him in the Manage Worlds to delete him.
