I went to open one of my saves on the sims 4 to see it had been deleted but it was replaced to an exact copy of one of my other saves. I decided to go and play that save for a bit and when I went off...

I went to play my supersim today and found the last save was from 5 days ago, meaning I lost 5 days of play and my sim is no longer a supersim. I have never had a problem with my saved games before this. 7 aspirations gone. 5 different jobs top level gone. all the skills he learned gone. the last save was for the 15th but I last saved on the 19th so their are no saves to recover from later. I know the save was fine as it was loading ok up until the 19th. I do play with a few mods but they are all up to date. As this was a mod household it have 12 occupants so testing with no mods is a no no. How would 5 days of saves just disappear? I have video to prove this. and no I don't use cloud services.
billblogs Are the missing save files present in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > saves? You can sort the files by modified date to make it easier to check.
Please also make sure that the Sims 4 folder isn't currently inside OneDrive. The service could have reenabled itself without your noticing. Here's how to check:

puzzlezaddict Hi, No the files are not in onedrive, I don't use it and its not active. I searched the saves folder and the last save from that game is the 14th more or less when I started the save. I started again from scratch I tested my mods in this game as well and found one that was stopping the build ui from appearing. Thanks for trying to help, I will have to start backing up my saves again I suppose because I had not experienced any problems I had become a bit complacent. Is it possible that a new game somehow over wrote the last save from that game?
billblogs Your previous saves shouldn't have disappeared, due to the update or for any other reason. The only common causes of disappearing saves are OneDrive/iCloud Drive, which you've already eliminated as a source of error; and installing the game itself into Documents > Electronic Arts, meaning it would share space with the user files, and the EA App could therefore delete user files. If you haven't done that either, then it's time to run a thorough malware scan. Let me know if you need help with that.
puzzlezaddict Hi, I already ran a malware and virus scan and nothing came up. I only use a few mods maybe 6 or 7 some littlemisssam, mccc, uicheats and the unnamable one. lol. I really don't know how this could have happened but it happened before the update yesterday. I was playing a new game with no mods for when the update happened. After I sorted what mods still worked ok I went back to load my supersim and found the last save was the 14th. I searched all 6 terrabytes of my drivespace and couldn't locate the missing save, well it's technically not missing just rolled back for some obscure reason. Anyway I moved on now and restarted my supersim. Will backup again from now on.

Additionally, we're investigating a issue where manual saves can inadvertently override each other during a very specific flow. If you open a save file, make changes, and exit to the main menu without saving, and then load an autosave - choosing "Save and exit" from that autosave will override your latest save instead of the original one.
Is it possible this is what happened to you? I can't tell from your description. And I can't find a bug report about it either (well, one new one that isn't all that specific), but I'll ask around tomorrow if you're interested. Let me know if you think this might explain your issue.
puzzlezaddict Oh sorry I didn't notice your reply. I did see in another post that maybe this is what happened and I could only maybe see older backup saves. well on my way again now with my new save 9 aspirations done and 7 different jobs to level 10. lol. I will just have to make sure I backup before I start a new save.
puzzlezaddict Update. I just logged into my supersim save again and I lost 2 sim days. I will be turning autosave off now and just using mccc autosave until this is fixed.
