Recent Update 19th August 2025 "C" button Screenshot if you go into POV mode two end buttonds keybord right if you press the screenshot "C" button the game will crash and the PC. Send case to EA this happend right after update nothing to do with graphic cards as advice given.
THIS IS A FRESH BUG AND NEEDS TO BE SORTED- The other modes work okay but not POV mode for Screenshot

Everytime I take a screenshot, the game freezes. I have no mods as the game just updated and I haven't put the mods folder back in my sims 4 folder yet. I have to keep restarting my computer to get out of the game so it totally freezes and won't come back.
AnazuraTS4 I didn't think the mouse was necessarily the source of the game crashes; it's just that the dxdiag listed crashes of the USB-C driver, so we had to eliminate that.
Does the game crash in DirectX 11 mode while you're playing in windowed mode, or does the problem only happen in fullscreen mode? What about fullscreen and DX9 mode?
Skyegal23 Does this happen in normal mode as well as tab or first-person (shift-tab) mode? It seems so from your screenshot, but I want to confirm.
Please try switching to windowed mode, and separately, try switching to DirectX 9 mode. Both are options on the graphics settings page.
Please also provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
Normal, I have never used the other two modes to take pictures. I will try your suggestions and see if it works

putting it in windowed mode seems to have fixed the issue
Skyegal23 Great. I've moved your thread to PC tech since windowed mode worked. The problem could be a background process, so try playing immediately after restarting your computer, with nothing running other than the EA App, and Steam if you use it. Disable the EA App in-game overlay, under Settings > Application, and the Steam in-game overlay if you play through Steam; and disable any other apps that come with overlays, for example Discord.
Hi I just tested windowed mode in Dx11 and fullscreen mode and got crashes for both. Fullscreen and windowed mode in dx9 did not crash. Still with a clean folder.
Hi, its still happenning, not as often but still freezes sometimes when I take screenshots and I have to force close the game
My Game completely freezes after i hit the C button to take a screenshot. I have to restart my PC to exit the Game.
It's not in POV mode but in normal Mode.
