Re: [Patch 1.117] When Loading Household, Game Returns to Neighborhood Select Screen

Ever since the update, whenever I try to enable my script mods, I get a loop where I can't load into any household and get kicked to the world select screen. I have made sure none of my mods were broken due to the update and that all the ones I do play with are up to date. I also went ahead and had The Sims create a new game folder and a new mod folder, so everything was fresh.

Some important things to note: I only encounter this bug when Script Mods are enabled; otherwise, my game is playable as normal. Just wanted to make note of this in case anyone else might have this bug. it sucks it's a vanilla issue, but at least it's still playable for now :)

Hello! I had this same issue. Exact same, in fact. And the reason it is happening is because of a script mod. Its not necessarily about it being up to date, I don't think, but rather I believe it is because the script mod is so far incompatible with the new patch. How I resolved it was that i searched for all my script mod files and the corresponding packages (type in ts4script in file explorer usually does the trick) and then isolate all of those into a new folder. It is a very long process of trial and error, opening and closing the game, but you basically want to add back mods one by one or two by two, open the game, and essentially test if that/those mods were broken based on if the issue of not opening the household occurs. I would add in the more safe mods first, test, then slowly add in the weirder ones. For me, I only had two. And those two script mods were completely janking up the entire game!

    1. Isolate all script mods
    2. Put the script mods into a separate folder (trust me, makes it much easier)
    3. Reintroduce script mods one at a time into the mod folder, open game
    4. If the game runs fine and you can open the household, that mod is not broken, you can close game and leave the mod in the mod folder. If you cannot open household, that mod is broken and you should either delete it or set it aside.
    5. (RECOMMENDED) Safe, reputable mods can be added pretty quickly into the mods folder in bulk, a test be done to ensure they are actually okay, then move onto the "sketchier" ones, for lack of better words. Sketchy being like 'indie' small creator mods, older ones, or otherwise weird ones.

Note; in my experience, the nsfw mods like **bleep**, mc command center, basemental drugs, and even smaller mods like nisa flirty fetishes all appear to be safe because they come from bigger, reputable sources!

This was also pretty useful in discerning it. Having large mods that were already outed as broken was helpful, but I found that I had a lot of weird underground ones. One little script mod... messing up the entire game.
