Sounds like this issue: Bug when moving to lot in Ravenwood | EA Forums - 5003344
OP never came back on that one.
Where did you move to ?
Did you never use mods/cc or remove them ?

I moved from Oasis Spring to Willow Creek. Used to use mods but only mccc and ui cheats. haven’t used them in a few weeks though, only base game and most packs.

Do you maybe have a backup you can test to see if the same happens again ?
Have you tested if it happens for other households (just use a backup of your save)

No, it doesn't happen with other households. I even tried it with the same household to see if it would happen again but strangely enough it didn't.
Hi ceruleanbean
I wouldn't worry too much if it was a one time thing. You can use the cheat money to adjust the money they have.

Coming back because it's happened again in two separate save files. I don't remember where I moved to in one of them but it seemed to solve itself in that one when I sold something (I think, i have a terrible memory). However, it's happening again with every single attempt that I try to move my sims into the lot I want them to move into. It's the Yuma Heights lot in Oasis Springs. I've tried it with other sims, tried it with the household I play with being unplayed, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I also then tried to move them into a different lot and it didn't seem to make a difference, whilst it didn't make them a millionaire, it did reduce the amount of money that they had from selling their furniture. They should've had 30,000 and instead got stuck with 7,000.
I've been trying to figure out a way to not make it happen for an hour!

I have the same problem. I wanted to move my Sims, and initially attempted to do so via my cell phone, but when I moved, the Sims were 20,000 in the red. So, I thought I would try bulldoze the lot, relocating the Sims, and then simply moving them into the new lot. Normally, I should still have around 1,000 Simoleons, but when I do that, I end up with 0, and when I sell something, no matter for how much, I suddenly have 99,999,999 Simoleons. I only have one mod for the Columns in CAS and CC, just new maps for the worlds and 2 tablecloths, but I've already removed it and cleared the cache, and the error still occurs.
