Sim stuck reacting to becoming a ghost

I am so mad, this actually ruined my game. The father of my sim family gets struck by a meteorite while looking through a telescope and dies which was bad enough, so I wanted to bring him back and got his devastated wife to make ambrosia (side note I had no idea infants and toddlers could grieve a dead parent, that was very hard to watch). He was stuck reacting to being a ghost as a ghost and even with cheating by teleporting him close to the table with the plate, it still took 20 real life minutes (not sim minutes) for him to eat it because he wouldn’t stop canceling his actions to react to being a ghost. He finally ate it, came back to life, but STILL wouldn’t stop reacting to being a ghost, and everyone around him still considers him dead. So I cheated him in CAS to be dead again, then let it play out and cheated him back alive and nothing changed. He still reacts to being a ghost I swear every five sim minutes and it cancels out everything he’s about to do, and everyone still thinks he’s dead. I’m very sad and actually haven’t touched the ts4 in like a month because my save is basically unplayable and I was too invested in it to start new. I did start a new family, and they’re a good family, but it’s just not the same, and I became very disheartened and couldn’t keep playing. Is this being looked at, like at all? Is anyone else having this problem?
