Sims can’t marry/ elope/ can’t change CAS relationship

Weddings/ marriage doesn’t work at all. When using the arch, the wedding music starts playing but sims won’t exchange vows. Same with eloping, music starts playing, but they do absolutely nothing. I tried to make them married in CAS, but spouse option is not visible. In fact, no other relationship option is visible besides the current one (engaged) and household mates.
I tried with and without MODS, the relationship is basically broken, I can’t get my sims married, I can’t change their relationship status in CAS.

  • Please try the clean folder approach described here: 📓[GUIDE] Clean User Folder Approach | EA Forums - 12690428

First try a new save with a new couple to see if that works. If not, put a copy of your save back and check that.

If that still doesn't work, please try another couple in that save to see if it's the couple or the save that's causing issues.

I have tried creating new save file, I tried with different couples. The same issue no matter what I do. It’s not the save file, and it’s not the mods.

It is part of weddings/ marriage issue. If I create the couple already married, no issue there. The moment I try to marry sims through gameplay, it doesn’t work, relationship options are not showing in the CAS, even with cheats on. I think we already know what needs to be done and that’s why I reported the issue. EA needs to get it fixed because it’s literally nothing I can do.

The thing is Byby_Smiley is that this isn't happening to everyone. I just had a wedding in my game yesterday and it worked as intended.

So it has to be something specific causing the issue for you. Crin has provided you with the clean folder approach, you need to make sure your game is completely free of mods and do the clean folder approach and test it out.

You may have removed your mods & CC but remnants of mod changed code can still linger even if a mod has been removed.

Actually, I see reported issues with marriages and all over forums and here as well. I did the clean folder test and tried only playing with base game. The issue persists.

Yes. I’ve had issues with mods through the years so I do believe this is not one of them.

Byby_Smiley If you can replicate with a clean folder, please post in Bug Reports or Gameplay Issues. Include that information.
