Sims cannot eat anything after purchasing from the vending machine

Sim cannot consume the item they purchased from the vending machine and then cannot eat any food after that even if they are on a new lot trying to consume a prepared dish or leftovers. They continue to starve while the action sits in queue. This also effects sims outside the household. Mods and CC are disabled.
