Sims go to random locations to drink potions

Every time I have a sim drink a potion (usually sleep replacement) they choose to go to some random far location in/near the house. Usually on a bed on the opposite side of the house, or go stand on the corner of the lot.
My child sim just climbed into the bathtub...complete with nude blur...to drink his sleep replacement potion. He was outside at the chess table when I assigned the task. Once the game was complete he got up, drink appeared in his hand, he walked into the house and got into the tub, drank the potion, then got out and now he's walking to a completely distant bathroom (not the same one) to place the potion cup on top of the toilet tank. This is the most bizarre potion event so far.
