Sims not walking over to the object they are interacting with

Since the latest patch i have been having an issue where my sims don't walk to the object that they are interacting with. For example, i click on the kitchen sink for her to wash her hands. She is standing in another room and instead of walking over to the sink she begins washing her hands in the air where she is standing. This bug is making the game unplayable for me. I have removed all mods, repaired the game and even started a new save file and it still happens.
