Sims obsessively use objects if they're placed anywhere in the home

mine obsessively cross-stitch too. I do prefer that they engage with that and wish they would also knit autonomously, but they do cross-stitch too much. I have had Sims on the verge of peeing themselves because they won't put down their cross-stitch. I notice and intervene (sometimes barely in time) and send them to the toilet, only to observe that later (30 - 60 in game minutes), they are still sitting on the toilet, pants around their ankles, and are diligently working on their cross-stitch. 

I play on Mac with no CC - only mod is MCCC

What is more annoying is that now even if I lock the PC, visiting sims STILL keep using it!  Before they actually stopped when you locked it. Now they just don't care.  I don't even bother with the cross-stitch anymore because if you have one basket in the house the WHOLE household is obsessed with it and will stop any action I've given them to feed their addiction. It's not like the knitting basket that just one sim has in their inventory and only they can use it.  There's no stopping any of them when you have the cross-stitch basket on the lot, while I only want the gran to use it. Drives me nuts. 

Hi! No NAPs! This has been an issue for as long as i can remember in this game lol. I remember back in January they released the laundry list detailing that they were fixing the bug with the in home bars, but alas the issue was never fixed. As the other person said, i have to lock all of my computers until i want to use one which is so annoying </3

Not sure if this is related, but I have a similar problem with sinks.  Maybe I'm a monster, but my sims have lost the privilege of having sinks.  Which is a pity, because there are some attractive sinks in the game.

Say a sim has a red bladder (quick fix, can be delayed) or yellow/near red.  Something else is more urgent now.  If the sim completes a queue while I'm dealing with another sim, what do they do?  Drink water and leave glasses everywhere.  Or maybe hygiene is getting low.  (Another quick fix that might be delayed.)  The shower is better and faster, and something else is more urgent.  What do the sims do?  Wash hands. They also wash dishes.  I usually have a dumpster in the back of my lot.  I like dishes to go in that rather than be washed.  I don’t normally use the money trashcan, but that’s another situation where dish washing wouldn’t be helpful.

I like that we can now set sinks as kitchen vs bathroom, but I would like to turn them off for automated use or select which sink actions sims can do automatously.

Sims will stop cooking meals to go listen to music or dance. I will have them doing task or interacting with others, they will get half through and they will go turn on the stereo. I have stopped adding stereos/ speakers to my builds.

I didn't even realize this was a bug, I thought it was just how the game worked if you left autonomy on.  Sad.

Could you please provide the following information

-  Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.

Unfortunately yeah it’s a bug🥲 a bug EA has said they’ll fix multiple times but just seem to not be able to, same with the bug that makes taking care of kids impossible and makes sims just stand there. I said in a different reply that back in January of this year they released a laundry list detailing that they’d be fixing the bar problem (just the bar problem, not the computer issue) and alas it was never fixed. I unfortunately have very low expectations for any updates this game has anymore. Oh how i wish EA would have spent the last decade building the sims 5 instead of leaving us with this garbage😭
