Sims remain recognized as romantic partners after breakup, marriage, and divorce
Issue Description:
I am experiencing a relationship status bug where Sims continue to be recognized as romantic partners even after their relationship has ended and they have moved on to other relationships.
Two Sims were previously in a romantic relationship. They broke up normally through in-game interactions, and afterward both Sims began new relationships and married other Sims. However, the game continued to treat the original pair as partners despite the breakup.
To troubleshoot, I attempted to reset the situation by having the Sims marry each other again and then divorce. Even after the second breakup/divorce, the game still retained the old partner relationship status instead of fully clearing the relationship history.
Expected Behavior:
After Sims break up, the game should remove the active partner/spouse relationship status so they are no longer recognized as romantic partners. If they later marry and divorce again, the relationship data should update correctly.
Actual Behavior:
The Sims remain flagged as partners even after breaking up, entering new relationships, marrying other Sims, and divorcing. The game appears to retain an outdated romantic relationship status that cannot be cleared through normal gameplay.
Troubleshooting Attempted:
- Broke up the Sims through normal in-game interactions
- Had both Sims enter new relationships and marry other Sims
- Re-married the original Sims and divorced them again to force a relationship reset
- Verified that the issue persists afterward
Additional Information:
The issue appears to involve the hidden relationship data/flags for the Sims rather than the visible relationship level, as the Sims have moved on but the game still recognizes them as partners. I have attempted to edit their status through CAS and it does not allow me to switch them from partners to household members. Additionally, they have broken themselves up on their own (after witnessing "infidelity" and yet they remain in this partnership. On their family tree, they are shown as divorced but also with the title of partner.
