Product: Sims 4
Platform: PC / Laptop
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Gameplay
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 01 / 02 / 2026 (All the time recently)
Summarize your bug. When I first load up the game, everything works fine. But after a while, when I send someone to eat, they just sit there in front of the food without moving or eating. Their needs steadily decrease, almost like they are frozen. Canceling the command to eat, they will move again.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Go into Sims 4, click on a household, especially ones with children or teens, but it's happened to my adults as well. Play a while, then try to get them to eat. This usually occurs after I have played a few in-game days.
What happens when the bug occurs? The sim slowly starves.
What do you expect to see? I expect to see my sim eat when I command them to.
Things I have Tried:
- Reset Sim
- Traveling to another lot and then back again
- Tried eating at another lot
- Repaired the game and cleared my catches: I was able to play a little longer before it popped back up again.
- Tried a new household
- Removed all my mods and tried a fresh save
- Replaced mods, made sure they were all up to date, and made a fresh save
- Tried a fresh install of the game
- Tried deleting all the food from the fridge
- Moving to a new lot altogether
I have noticed this seems to occur in larger households. I do not recall it happening as often, or at least I didn't notice it when I had only 2 or 3 sims. But now that I am running a household of 8, it is more noticeable and occurring more often. So I am unsure if it could be related to household size. I tend to spend my sim day on one speed, and only on hyper speed when the whole household is asleep. Since I like playing with large families.
The only workaround I have found so far is to exit the game and reload it. Then I can play a few more days, usually between 2 and 4, before the bug starts up again. It is pretty annoying.
