Sims standing around instead of taking care of infant/toddler

It takes me sims like 5 times of me clicking and telling them to do something with the infant such as changing their diaper, feeding them, giving them a back. Don't even get me started on feeding them if you try to do it with a high chair. I shouldn't have to be stressed about a stage of life for my sim and not knowing if they will be taken away from me. I'm really hoping that when the November update comes out they really work on fixing these bugs that have been prevalent and needing fixing for so long.
